On Saturday, May 8th,we went out to Heartland of Lexington to plant flowers. Many thanks to Tammy and our "supervisors" who helped us figure out how to plant seeds the right way. When we were done, we were given a brief tour and had a chance to meet some of the clients. Below is a photo of a woman who has reached the blessed age of 103 years.

Senior Citizen's Farmers Market Project
On Saturday, May 29th, a select few of our members will take and process applications at St. John's Baptist Church (corner of Beltline and Farrow Roads). We will start at the God-forsaken hour of 8:00 AM and keep at it until 11:00 AM.
Great, another opportunity to wear our fancy new polo shirts! Thanks for everyone who signed up.

Business Ad
We are planning on placing an ad in the upcoming Brookland Baptist Business Directory. The main purpose of this ad will be to recruit new volunteers. It will feature our new logo and our slogan, "Change We Can Make Happen".
We are asking all current members to make a donation toward the $50 cost for a quarter page ad. Since our bank account is so small, we would like to not draw any funds from that account. My goal is to not spend any money out of our account until we reach $1,000. (We are less than halfway to that amount!)
So please contact me with your pledge amount (between $5 and $10) to pay for the business ad. (mpowerkm@hotmail.com) This pledge will be in addition to any dues you have paid or will pay.
Thanks everyone!
