2010 Food Drive Project
During the months of September and October, we will be hosting a food drive for Brookland's Food Pantry. As many of you already know, the Food Pantry provides food for meals to needy families throughout the Midlands. In these tough economic times, many of our neighbors are struggling to make ends meet.
We will be collecting non-perishable items including canned foods, boxed pasta, canned and bottled juices/drinks, boxed cereals, corn bread mix (Jiffy, of course!), flour, canned tuna fish and salmon, to name a few. Also, a portion of what we collect will be donated to the Oliver Gospel Mission in support of their Thanksgiving Baskets program.
I am asking each of you to commit to asking AT LEAST 10 people to donate food items. Of course, you are free to ask many more than 10 persons.
Most of the food items donated will be collected on Sundays after both worship services and also at the Northeast location. I will need you to volunteer to serve at the tables we will have set up in the Health and Wellness Center (West Columbia) and in the main hallway (Northeast).
Please let me know which location and which Sundays you will be available to help received donations.

Oliver Gospel Mission Project Update
On Saturday, September 18, the Yes We Will Volunteers helped to clean 2 dormitory rooms at the Oliver Gospel Mission. More specifically, we wiped down the metal bunk beds, swept and mopped the floors and wiped down the blinds. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? Actually, it wasn't that bad. Helping us were Lawrence and Michael, two residents of the Oliver Gospel Mission program. Check out the photos.
